Cello Mello was the first
track I showed to the world, though obviously not the
first track I had ever written. This song grew by leaps
and bounds; I was playing with that rhythmic delay you
hear on the opening piano, that suggested a bass, I
improvised a melody over that, and then I started
thinking what chords and melodies would fit it further.
Initially I had a SampleTank cello on this piece, but John
Catchings of Nashville offered to play a real cello part,
which I gratefully accepted. The result is infinitely
better than what I could program myself.
