Maria Theresia von Paradis - Sicilienne

Sicilienne
This Sicilienne for violin and keyboard, is attributed to the blind female composer von Paradis. The attribution was made by Samuel Dushkin, who claims to have discovered the piece. However, no other copies exist, and stylistically the piece is also “off” for the baroque style of von Paradis. Dushkin probably wrote the piece himself.
No matter, it’s a charming piece and worth playing no matter who wrote it. I have arranged it for SATB quartet, and a little lower for ATBC. This is freely available on IMSLP. If you like this music, why not buy me a coffee?
