John Come Kiss me Now (2018)

John Come Kiss me Now

This ground bass song from the 16th century is known in versions by several composers, among whom William Byrd. Here it is given a treatment that allows for smaller or larger ensembles. It is scored for an SATB quartet playing throughout, with an optional low choir (TBGC) adding variety and depth in places.

Running time is a good four minutes. The piece is of intermediate difficulty, with the low choir typically a little harder. A section in 5/8 towards the end will be a pleasant challenge to intermediate level players.
